What is a Radiant Floor Heating System?

This is basically a heating source under your floor that creates heat safely. The heat radiates up through the floor to heat the entire room. The heat source is distributed under the floor so you get an even heating of the room.

The two common under floor heating systems are electric and hot water (hydronic). Electrical systems use insulated electrical wires under your floor to produce heat. This type of floor heating is easier to install but more expensive to run. This may be a good option for smaller rooms in your house. The hot water system uses small water tubes to circulate warm water under the floors. These are less expensive monthly and are a good choice to heat large areas. We can help you decide on the most efficient and affordable system for your home.

What Are the Benefits of Radiant Floor Heating?

Radiant heat keeps a room evenly heated throughout the day. The heat rises as waves from the floor to heat the room in all areas. No hot or cold spots. Traditional forced-air heating systems using a furnace blow the warm air into the room from a vent. The heated air rises to the ceiling, cools down and sinks to the floor. Furnaces turn on and off in response to a thermostat setting that may not even be in that room. It's difficult to keep the entire room comfortable, especially near the floor, with forced-air systems.

You also don't have ductwork collecting dust and allergy-triggering substances that eventually get blown into the room. There are no filters to change. There are also no noisy blowers that kick on and off throughout the day and night. Radiant floor heating is the quiet way to heat your home.

Snow Melt Systems

We can also prodvide snow melting systems for commercial applications (office buildings & apartments, sidewalks, parking entry). We will work with general contractors building owners to design and install these systems. We can also provide this for residential applications. The systems usually involves a heat source (hot water boiler) system piping, and tubing out in the area that needs snow melting. So if you are looking at replacing sidewalks, driveways, parking entry areas, or if it's new construction. Give us a call so we can help you with design and pricing.
