When plumbing repairs come up, they are often of an immediate nature. You won’t typically have time to interview contractors and find three bids while checking references and reviewing portfolios like you might like to do to assure you’re hiring someone trustworthy who is going to do a great job. Everybody has a cousin, brother-in-law, or a “friend of a friend” who can do inexpensive handyman work on something simple like a leaky faucet, and on the surface that’s fine, they can do the job adequately.
